We had a relatively low attendance for today’s Legacy tournament, but that did not stop the fun and excitement in today’s event.
The series leader; Mike Donor, finished with a 1-3 swiss record. He missed the top 4 playoffs, and some much needed points to get an insurmountable lead. Philip Gisbert who was running at 2nd was on the other side of the standings. He had a lot of work to do to swipe the lead from Mike though. The standings prior to the playoffs indicated that he needed to score no less than a finals appearance to tie the points, or better yet, a win today to finish with a 2pt lead.
A new face showed up though, and he had other plans for this tourney. Resley Olchondra, a veteran of the Philippine Eternal scene, decided to pay us a visit and grab a judge foil for his troubles. Resley took Philip Gisbert out in the top 4 playoffs (which secured Mike Donor’s championship), and proceeded to win the 4th leg in a finals match against series mainstay Juan Carlo Espiritu.

The future:
This Legacy super series was something that we wanted to try out. A tournament series with our own points system which will yield a huge reward for those who consistently play and do well. The series and the system in general proved to be very exciting, something that is almost comparable to the Magic the Gathering Player of the Year (POY) race. A few of the players-turned-spectators even went as far as comparing it to the Formula 1 leader boards. Because of the success of this series, we are planning something even bigger for the eternal community in the future. It will surely be another series, and we will be doing a promo for the entry fees; season tickets. Details will be disclosed once everything is finalized.
For August, we will be running a few more test events in the store for us to gauge the feasibility of what we are planning to do.
